
The Nipissing Lakers have two games in OUA men’s hockey this weekend, including Friday night’s matchup with Western at Memorial Gardens. Game time is 7pm. Saturday, Nipissing is on the road playing Queen’s. Meantime, in the NOJHL, the North Bay Junior A Trappers have a busy weekend. They’re in Elliot Lake Friday night, then Blind River Saturday and Sault Ste Marie on Sunday afternoon, for a matchup with the league-leading Thunderbirds.
In OCAA men’s basketball, Canadore is on the road playing Sheridan Saturday and Niagara on Sunday. The Panthers lost their first two games of the season last weekend.
In OCAA volleyball, the mens and womens teams at both Nipissing and Canadore open the regular season with a couple games each this weekend. They play Sheridan and Niagara Saturday and Sunday.
In NDA senior boys volleyball, St Joseph-Scollard Hall won their quarterfinal 3-1 over Franco Cite on Thursday. The Bears advance to the semifinals against Chippewa. The best of three starts Monday. The other semi-final has Algonquin playing Widdifield. And in Monday’s junior semi-finals, FJ McElligott travels to Widdifield while Chippewa is home to Franco Cite.
