Mayor Al McDonald says city staff are working hard to reduce the costs of your water bill. A special committee meeting was held on Thursday to look at the water and sewer budget. McDonald says through this process they hope to discover ways of making those savings possible. According to legislation the city is required to charge the exact amount the service costs. McDonald says that’s why they need to dig through the water and sewer budget and look at what areas can be reduced financially. He says if they do find some savings it will give home owners a chance to save on their water bills. Council will hear what solutions the committee came up with at the next council meeting.
