Flu season is approaching and the health unit is getting ready.
Their influenza vaccine clinics start October 29th — with a session in Sturgeon Falls. Public Health Nurse Jaymie-Lynn Blanchard says the first clinic in North Bay is a couple days later on the 31st at the Elks Lodge. She says the entire schedule can be found on their website. This year the vaccine covers 2 influenza-A strains along with an influenza-B strain. She says there’s a slight variation from the vaccine last year so it’s important for people to get the flu shot each year so they’re protected against the flu virus. Once again this year, appointments can be booked for certain flu clinics.
