A military graveside memorial is taking place Saturday at St Mary’s Cemetery in North Bay.  About 20 Army reservists from the Algonquin Regiment will conduct the ceremony to honour World War I veteran Private John Jack Friel — who passed away in 1965.  The event will feature the dedication of a newly-placed grave marker along with blank ammunition being fired at the ceremony. 

The Starlight Children’s Foundation is benefiting from Cineplex Community Day tomorrow (Sat) at Galaxy Cinema’s on Lakeshore Drive.  The event features free movies and concession items starting at 2-dollars.  The doors open at 830am.  There are six films beginning at staggered times between 9:00am and 10:15am.
