Earlier this week we let you know that Dr. Michael Degage is the new president of Nipissing University. Degagne says his focus will be to build on the student success that has already been enjoyed at the university.  Degagne who is from Fort Frances and has lived in Sudbury says he’s coming home Degagne has been appointed to a 5 year term and is the university’s 7th president. He officially takes over in January of next year. he has spent much of the last quarter century working in the public sector for government and he says that will help him as he takes over a new role as he will be consulting with students, staff and the community. Degagne says Nipissing has a well deserved reputation and is seen as a place that is the right size for a student who wants to experience the north is all about.
